Just last week, former Forefront Records rock band This Beautiful Republic released their final project, a 3-song cover EP and announced that they had split up late last year. The band has been traveling a bit of a rocky road since parting ways with their lead singer at the end of 2009, and this recording was made before Ben had left the band. Below is their break-up announcement letter from bassist Brandon Paxton, posted at ThisBeautifulRepublic.com (thanks Zach for passing this on)...
"Through the past year of 2010,
Cameron, Jeremy and I toured with
Cameron singing lead vocals and Andy filling in
on drums. We had the intentions of writing a
new record and did work on a few songs, but
never had the opportunity to record anything
with Cameron singing vocals.
The stress of being gone from home was too
much for Jeremy and he decided to step down
in August, then Cameron left shortly after,
moving back to his home state of California.
This Beautiful Republic officially stopped
playing music together as of September 2010.
Though TBR is done, some of us still have
hopes and plans of pursuing our music careers
elsewhere. Don't worry, we're all still friends.
As a farewell, we decided to release our
Covers EP, which was the last thing TBR
recorded together with Ben, Cameron, Jeremy
and myself. It was recorded at the end of
2009 with our producer Allen Salmon.
Thank you all for your support over the
years. Without you, it would not have been
possible.
We worked hard,
We traveled far,
We lived a dream.
-- Brandon"
